Prices go down? Toyota? Har, har , har...
When the second gen MR2 came out, a well equipped turbo was around
$21.5 to $22k. When I took on a '93, they were a heavy $24. My cars
where almost identical in options. The '95s topped at about $31.5 to
$32k. Gee I wonder why they didn't sell any? :^) [Insurance did kill
most of the sales if the sticker didn't]
I don't expect the MRS to get any cheaper, but the initial intro will
be cheap to "move the product".

I would second that. In May of 1995, I went to my local 'friendly'
Toyota dealer to price a turbo and the sales guy didn't blink an eye
when he said "$30,000 plus freight",
and that was the 'special' AAA auto club price. Two months later I
bought a cherry '93 NA w/25K miles from a Honda used car lot for
$15,000. While this car won't win the midnight drags on the interstate
and has high potential for being a hood ornament on some crazed soccer
mom's V6 Caravan (nearly happened!), it did take me to the WDC SCCA
regional Solo II C Stock championship this year. But with Lee Piccone
and Andy Poling coming into this class next season, I think I just heard
my '15 minutes of fame' clock expire :-> !
