C&D had a write up on the "new" Morgan and their US distributor, located in
San Francisco, if memory serves. However, technically that car isn't the
one mentioned in the book, but it has the same brand name and model
designation. The rule book doesn't list a year on that line. ;-) That's a
big grin!

Here's a quote from the article that deals with US availability:

</quote>
Unfortunately, these winning, spectacularly British sports cars are being
regulated out of the world's markets. The only two dealers in the U.S. went
without new cars for 18 months in 1997-98 because the company had dithered
over various safety and emissions requirements (see sidebar).

"If the factory doesn't respond soon to these issues, Morgan is going to be
out of business in America, again," says Win Sharples, owner of Cantab
Motors, Morgan's East Coast agent, in Purcellville, Virginia. "But this
company's way of dealing with problems has been to hide its head in the
sand."
</end quote>

This implies that cars WERE imported in 1996.
