FWIW, I've seen advertisements showing 
teflon lines with a Kevlar outer braid.  
The selling points:  The Kevlar outer 
braid's strands are less likely to break 
than those in the CRES braid and won't 
puncture a line if they do.  It also 
offers a reduction in weight, approx 
half of which is unsprung.  And, the 
Kevlar reinforced lines supposedly 
expand less when pressurized, offering a 
firmer pedal.  Too bad I can't use 
them...
