Connector Corrosion

Towing question:  Does anybuddy know a way to slow or stop
the corrosion that seems to be a constant on the electrical
contacts of my towing connector?  I just cleaned them up a
couple weeks ago, and they're all nasty again :-(  Is there some
kind of grease I can use to coat them that won't short them
together if it gets everywhere, yet will let them contact the
plug on the trailer?
