This isn't directly autox related, but I just wanted to pass the word that
there is a MARRS (Mid-Atlantic Road Race Series) race at Summit Point, WV
this weekend. There will be 9 race groups which include a total of 34
classes of race cars. The cars include open wheel formula cars (from
Formula Vee to Formula Atlantic), production-based cars (showroom stock,
improved touring, production, GT), sports racers, spec racers, etc. The
track is about 90 minutes from DC or Baltimore. See
http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/ for details. I believe it costs $20 for
spectators. Saturday consists of qualifying sessions, and the actual races
are on Sunday.
I will be racing my ITS class 2nd gen. RX7 there. If you are there, stop by
my paddock and say hello. My car is #36, white with many multi-colored
stripes.
On an autox-related note, the Autocrossers, Inc. club is planning a Solo2
event at the Summit Point Jefferson Circuit on September 6 (Labor Day).
