Has anybody really gotten serious about prepping a car for ST yet? I
realize that there probably won't be any top guns seriously prepping
cars for the class until they recognize ST at Nationals but.........

If I were to do it with my Neon I would get some 14x7" Diamond racing
wheels (spun steel rims, only weigh 14 lbs. each and best of all they're
only about $70 each) and mount some Toyo Proxes T1 Plus tires in a
225/40-14 size up front and 195/45-14 size out back. The Toyos have a
treadwear rating of 200 but are quite sticky.

I can almost guarantee that the 9.1" wide 225/40-14 Toyos are gonna give
more stickum than the 195/55-14 SP8000s.

Of course I wouldn't wanna drive those babies on the street and
therefore would have another set of wheels/tires to change to and from
on race day.

Just a thought.

See you on course.

Patrick Henry:
"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone
who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it
but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined."

Benjamin Franklin:
"They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary
safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
