Job Title: Transfusing Power steering fluid

Job Cost: $4.00 per quart (min 2 quarts needed)

Job dificulty: 2.5/3 Yeungling Lagers (simply because of time)

Job result: def. worthwhile

Mod result:
I was shoping in one of my favorite stores today Pep Boys and I saw this
Valvoline Synpower "synthetic Power Stering fluid" well I figured I like the
result that I got from going synthetic on the motor, might as well try the
steering....

and I am impressed, this had to add a couple of horsepower, I'll explain
why, previous to change while turning the tires @ idle The rpm's dropped
200rpm during turn after mod same test resulted in ~50 rpm loss from idle
and sometimes undectable.. This must be worth a few HP... also this process
eliminated the annoying Whine at full lock of the PS pump.

Job Desc.
Drain power steering resivour, (A turkey baster works great) fill with new
fluid,(about 1/4 quart) cycle steering lock to lock 10 times, repeat, The
new fluid is vodka clear, not red like the factory stuff, repeat process
till the drained fluid comes out clear (or really light pink) fill to full
level and seal resivour..

you will see the diffrence right away...

These results are on a 1.9l m44 powered Z3 with the quick ratio (2.5 lock to
lock) power steering, the RPM drop will prob not be as noticeable on 6/8/12
cyl cars, or cars with SLOW ratio steering.. but the free power is still
there, this is just the trick for those stock class guys that need every bit
of power legally

Good luck
Jeff Lloyd
