You gotta know a name like Entriken gets its share of mangling, and
misspelling. So it really tickles me when someone asks how to spell it and then
remarks, "Oh, just like it sounds". The "usual" misspelling is "Entricken"
so I tell people "there is no trick in Entriken."

Many try to spell it beginning with "I" -- my favorite was "Intricate". I
kinda liked being intricate.

Of course it is often mispronounced too, EN-tri-ken .. but so often it is
mangled to en-TRICK-en.

Years ago my dad (Robert Sr -- I'm Jr) adopted the gambit at restaurants of
booking his table as "Mr. Roberts" just to avoid maitre d' manglings. An ex
Navyman, I think he also liked the tie to the WWII character played by Henry
Fonda in the movie of that name.

Then there are those who see my name, Robert Entriken Jr., and immediately
address me as "Bob." I know right away they 1) don't know me and 2) are trying
to sell me something. I've been Rocky since I was one day old. My dad is Bob.

And sometimes I'm...
