Maybe I can shed a little more light on this, Mark. Our Area 7
Director, Dan Sherrod (who, if I'm not mistaken, is an insurance guy
himself) always shares his notes from the BoD meetings with those of
us who are REs in the SWDiv. Here's what he had to say on that topic,
verbatim:
"There are some changes in the participant accident insurance. The
$500,000.00 catastrophe limit has been raised to $1,000,000.00. In
exchange, the first $5,000.00 of accident coverage that was primary,
is now secondary. This means that any insurance you have is primary.
The SCCA coverage steps in if you have no insurance. It will also in
the gaps in your insurance. The BoD felt this was a reasonable trade
off for the additional $500,000.00 in the catstrophe limit."
Howard tells me there will be a full explanation in the next
SportsCar.
