Regarding your request for input about moving the FF2000 to CM at a
weight of 1310 lbs. and without wings.
What's the problem, does the SEB have too much spare time on its hands?
Looking around for a project? Why the desire to tinker with such a
successful class. The SEB has no idea regarding the times capable of
such a bastardization. C Mod is a strong class. There is no need to
move any cars into it. If someone owns a FF2000 and wishes to autocross
it, there is a place for them to do so and that is in B Mod. It will
not be competitive but neither will the Mazda RX-7 be competitive in E
Stock. There are thousands of those cars available and very cheaply.
Why doesn't the SEB consider moving the RX-7 to a lower class? Compare
this to the idea to move the FF2000 to CM.
How many SCCA members will be helped by moving a bastardized FF2000 into
CM? One? Two? How many will be hurt? 50? 70?
The SEB probably gets one request a year to move the FF2000 to CM. I
strongly urge you to dump this idea. I repeat: the SEB has NO IDEA of
how fast or slow this car would be. Don't destroy a good class. Why
are you messing with a successful class? Why would the SEB even
consider such a wild and extreme proposal? Who and how many have
requested such a move?
Let the FF2000 continue to reside in B Mod where it belongs (and where
the S2000 likely belongs also).
Please respond to my questions above as soon as possible.
Sincerely
Jim Garry
