If it's any help? the Alpine unit and controller are the same as the Jag
E-Type. I've just installed my spare in my neighbours E-Type S2.

Hi Barry

In the stock series V Alpine alternator circuit, there is no
switching relay. There is the 4TRregulator and the warning light simulator.

The high current lead goes directly to the starter circuit
selonide, where it ties into the battery circuit.

Are you refering to the starter solonide? While the 10AC is only rated for
35 Amps the starter relay has to be rated for more than 100A of
cranking current.
