Russ,

Thanks for looking at the Alpine. You never know it could have been
one of the RHD Sebring Alpines.
I would say that the odds of it being the car could be as low as 20:1.
I mean - how many RHD Alpines
made it to the US? Not many.

Here's what I know about the other 4 missing 1961 and 1962 Sebring
(factory prepared) Alpines and potential locations:

1) Ralph Bowyer's widow, the family owned a 1961 Sebring Alpine, said
that they
sold their's in the 60's in Salt Lake City, Utah.
2) Willard Clever sold his to somebody in Illinois around 1971.
BTW, this car had a Series IV rear clip placed on it so you would be
looking at a short
finned RHD car.
3) Ken Miles drove a 1961 car at Laguna Seca in the 63/64 time frame -
it was
Black by then. This car may have been from N. Cal and stayed in S. Cal.
4) Rumor has it that Bill Buchman of Sarasota, Flordia had a 1961
Sebring Alpine.

The only thing that "might" immediately help somebody identify a 1961
Sebring cars other
than it being RHD is a modification to how the spare tire mounted. I
believe there was
a bracket bar welded into the trunk to hold the spare since you
couldn't put the spare in
the normal location due to the 25 gallon gas tank.
