Series V: General questions

I've been trying to figure out a nice way to elicit some responses on
questions I keep coming up with as I get to work on my new Alpine, and I
think just asking them in a series like this would work the best.  So please
bear with me while I try it out.  Seems like this would be more effective
than trying to dump all my questions in one big message and getting lost.
