Thermo Housing

Help!!

As I am preparing to bolt the head to the block of my 1745cc Alpine, I
noticed there is interference between the thermo housing nut and water
pump housing. The head will not fully seat on the block by about 1/32
inch.  See photo attached.

Any ideas on how to correct this??
