For anyone following the Victoria British Gear Reduction Starter story, I finally installed mine and the engagement sounded a little rough. Upon inspection I noticed that the bendix was barely engaging the ring gear. In order to fix the problem, 3/16ths of an inch will need to be machined off the adapter plate allowing the starter to sit deeper in the block. VB Strikes Again, Tom Hill |
