Living in Lincoln NE, and only 45 miles from Omaha and Offut AFB and SAC, it is
not uncommon for us to see military aircraft in the area. Especially since
Lincoln has the longest runway in the US, and is also home of the refueling
large tankers seen in midair refueling flights. The Strategic Air Command (SAC)
near Omaha was also the home of the 'Looking Glass' military jet and Air Force
One type jets normally practice take-offs and landings to familiarize pilots
with the surroundings. Brent
