Rotors can crack and ground the spark to the shaft. Believe me. Been
there. Bill

I took a magnified look at the rotor and what I think I do see are
traces of arcing underneath the tip of the contact and running down the
front of the rotor ( where it could have been grounding). Hmmmm.
