This was on the Imp list and the author asked for it to be posted to the
Alpine list too. Sounds like a fun event.

To all on the onelist,
I have apparently missed a message from Henk Hol re-next years proposed trip
to Holland, but Simon Benoy is sending me a copy.
In the meantime the provisional ideas are as follows:

- proposed trip is for the May Bank Holiday Weekend.
- Northerners to catch ferry from Hull on Thursday evening 24th May. Arrive
  Rotterdam Friday morning.
- Return is Monday evening, giving us 4 days in Holland.
- Simon B is investigating an alternative crossing from Harwich for
southerners.
Nothing sinister here just mileage considerations. Harwich is a daytime
journey
  takes approx 4 hours.
- The Hull trip will be approx £70 per car plus £55 per passenger. Over 65's
and
under 16's may be a bit less. So return trip for Imp plus 2 will be around
£180.
- The above are Y2K Block Booking prices, next years prices have not been
fixed yet, but the Agent says it won't be much different. Firm prices
should be
  available before year end.

For anyone who missed the earlier info, Henk is talking about camping in the
South of Holland and including visits to Spa and Nurburgring.
Get in touch with Simon or myself if you are interested so that we have a
fix on numbers. We will probably be looking for deposits around year end.
We had about 20 cars last time, I think there may be more this time. Perhaps
we should keep up the "entend cordiale" after National Weekend and invite
ARCC. So can somebody tell the Alpine/Tiger brigade. The Dutch end does this
as all the Rootes group work together in Holland, so it would be good for
them.
More later as things develop.

Regards

Colin Valentine
