Bill,
I don't think that I have ever heard an Alpine dieseling after running.
I would move to a colder plug.
The release ball bearning doesn't need to be run-in, so I'm not sure
where that noise is coming from. I haven't used anything but the carbon
ring type, so I not that experienced about the noise problem.
