Unless you have tires with a particularly squirmy tread, this is almost 
always a problem not with the tires or wheels, but with the toe 
setting.  Given that the cars have fairly short tie rods, bump steer is 
something that's inherent in the design, and takes a lot of work and 
fiddling to minimize.  When the toe goes awry, that magnifies the bump 
steer problem.
