I have been battling with the OD for the last few  days. 

Symptoms: Does not go into OD

Items checked so far:  Solenoid works well when the engine is not running.
Works with a need to  assist by hand when the car is jacked up, engine
running and in top  gear.

Oil pressure in  transmission at 420 and
operating valve cleaned.

Lever aligned with hole and 3/16th dowel
enters  perfectly.

Manually pushing down on the alignment lever, puts it into  OD.

Adjusting lever and compensating for wear, puts it into OD but will  not
release out of OD.



Any thoughts  anyone?

You may want to take a look at pg. 17 @ The VTR website.  The address  is:

It describes how to adjust the operating valve.  We have found that  too 
often the adjustment using the drill does not work.  Try this  method.  It has 
worked for Larry and I.
