I was just getting ready to post a question on the construction of the PWDA,
when I remembered to refer to the electrical Bible authored by Dan Masters (
our LBC's "Prince of Light" ) and lo and behold on p. 95, there is a complete
diagram, showing two piston O-rings that would be destroyed by 400 degrees F
during powder coating.

So, okay, how do I remove the piston?

It seems hard to get to and not very mobile, i.e. it appears to be stuck.

So I Googled the query and again, to my rescue, an article by Nelson Riedel
(another hero) came up at http://lotus-europa.com/files/mc%20rebuild.pdf and
yes, I need to block off all ports and apply air pressure to pop out the
piston (pointing it at a waste paper basket, of course). I would have tried
this anyway, but his instructions are comforting, with bolt sizes and
everything.

Most everything else (heater valve, wiper motor covers, brake master and
clutch slave cylinders etc.) can be dismantled to avoid temperature sensitive
stuff.

Had the vacuum booster cover PC'd when I had it refurbed.

Hope this helps someone else. Happy New Year!
Jerry
