        Kevin:

Nothing on the head gasket where the head and the deck touch it.
You might
want to use a little Hylomar on both sides of it where it seals the
outside of
the lifter gallery (gasket is about 1/4" wide). The lifter gallery can
leak oil
down the side of the block, and a little Hylomar on that portion of the
gasket
will prevent this from happening. But on the head/deck portion of the
gasket you
should use nothing.
The intake manifold gasket would burn up any Hylomar where it
gets close
to the exhaust manifold, and the intake portion of the gasket is only
flowing
air (for the most part) so Hylomar would seem to be of little benefit. I
installed
mine dry, fwiw.

About ready to re-install the head. I have used a 55 gal drum (or so)
of
hylomar HPF on all the botton end gaskets, but what (if anything) should
I use
on the head gasket and the manifold gasket? 1972, stock cam, weber
carbs (2
only) and header exhaust.
