restarting

I would like some feedback/opinions regarding the 
restarting of my TR3 and TR6.  both have been 
parked for about 9 months.  

Both were running when parked in my garage and I have 
new plugs for the TR3 as the ones in need replacing.
Is it necessary to add a little lightweight oil to 
each cylinder and let it seep around the rings prior 
to turning over by hand to loosen things up prior to
turning on the Key?
