In order to save some viewers the agony of reading all of this I will post the
question at the beginning (and end) of this RFI.

Anyone have a suggestion as to where to get heat- shrink tubing in various
lengths and diameters?

I made mention of my car smoking whenever I took it for a spin. Took the dash
and other wires out today... seems two of the three turn-signal wires have
been worn down past the insulation (which in turn caused my white ignition
wire to leak smoke from under the dash. I'm not one for making the car show
quality but tend to drift towards the "make it better than the condition that
caused the failure" attitude.

The wires are worn away about 1" from the switch itself (but still inside the
steering column and not in the small tunnel it later ventures down. I have to
assume it was touching the actual steering shaft as this is the moving part
(and what was causing the smoke was the shaft shorting out the wires while
turning (it never smoked while standing still)

Therefore.. I want to tear off the black tape wrapped around the wires, remove
the less than effective rubber shrouds over the wires (where it wore through)
and replace it with more modern heat shrink tubing on each wire for more than
an inch and then use heat shrink over the complete wiring assy. in lieu of the
previous tape wrap.

Anyone have a suggestion as to where to get heat shrink in various lengths?
