Cliff---The puf of blue smoke when starting your engine is probably
coming from oil down the valve guides. New guides or not, if the
installer got carried away with his reaming and left them with a loose
fit, well...Another way for the valve guides to loosen up too soon would
be when the (wrong) rocker geometry puts too much side load on the
guides. Kastner has some things to say about this in his new book.

Some oil could be getting past the rings, but you should see the smoke
from this at other times. Less likely if the rings were changed and
cylinders honed during the rebuild.

Should you worry? Probably not. Should you be happy? Definitely not.
