List,
I am trying to align my hood using the instructions posted a couple of weeks
ago that indicated the hood should be positioned with the right gaps and then
the hinges can be installed and tightened through the grille area. That part
worked well.

I am having dificulty with the right side (passenger side) of my hood being
almost a half inch higher than the edge of the right fender. The driver's side
attached with plenty of adjustment to get the height set properly, but when I
attach the right hinge to the hood and then try to attach the hinge to the
right inner fender, I have to raise the hinge 3/8ths to 1/2 inch to align the
bolt holes. This raises the top of the hood above the edge of the fender by
the
same amount.

Due to the accident, the right inner fender, wheel arch, valance hood and
left and right outer fenders were replaced. The right hood hinge is new.
Measurements have been taken to the ground and front bumper and indicate that
both
the left and right fenders are positioned at the same height. I have also
measured down from the top bold hole on the inner fender hood mount to the
mounting bracket for the inner fender and I am only off by 1/16th to 1/8th of
an
inch. Seems to me that the measuring confirms everything is within tolerance.
This is maddening.

Has anyone experienced this problem? I know there has to be something off,
but danged if I can find it. The easiest solution I see is to extend the slots
on the right hood hinge, which may require welding an additional piece to the
end of that hinge. I don't really want to do this as I would like to find
what is causing the problem and correct it, but I do want to drive my car some
day soon. Any suggestions before I start cutting and welding? Thanks for any
help.
