Subject: spin-on filter conversion failed! bearing damage?

Hello listers,

This applies to my big Healey, but similar situation possible with TR6. Was
driving yesterday and the spin-on oil filter conversion broke! I heard a
noise, but didn't stop until I noticed there was no oil pressure! Car
probably ran about 30-45 seconds (low speed, not much load) without oil
pressure; engine was still running normally when I shut it off.

What are the chances that I've fried the main bearings or committed other
irreparable damage?

I had just changed the filter. The spin-on converter broke in the middle of
the central threaded bolt that holds it on (among my other problems is
figuring out how to get the other half of the bolt out of the engine).
Design is similar, but not identical, to the spin-on converter for the TR6.
Has anyone else had similar experiences?

All thoughts appreciated.
