I spoke with Ted about his flywheels as I was trying to get the aluminum one
for mine (the long crank). I'm 95% sure he said it was Fidanza, he sells them
for $310, if that's still right?

No experience with Fidanza. The stuff that I've seen about it (on eBay,
etc.) looks okay, in fact it looks very much like the Tilton unit that I
have (e.g. replacable steel friction surface and pinned ring gear)...

11 or 12 pounds wound be about right for an aluminium flywheel with a
steel insert.

Is it too light for street use? That's hard to say. My race car has the
Tilton alley unit and a B&B heavy duty pressure plate (and "normal" clutch
disk). It is very drivable indeed, you just have to pay more attention to
the engine revs when you release the clutch. Of course, I have "gears", so
you may find that the revs require more attention with the stock 3.70 rear
gears, but I find that car very easy to drive. I can even drive it on/off
the trailer (folks with real racing clutches will know what this means)
without any trauma.

p.s. side-bar, I think the alley flywheels that TSI sells are not Fidanza,
but are made by an enthusiast in the midwest somewhere (his name is Jim
Donato, if memory serves), but check with Ted (or maybe Ted will chime in,
he's on this list, I think).
