Hi List...
As the process continues on the brake system, I have now reached the calipers.
Since it was about 5 degrees in the garage when I was taking the caliper off, I
have the right one only off right now. I have managed, with some PB Blaster
and some convincing to get the caliper apart. The problem I have now is
getting the pistons out. They dont look all that good right now, but I will
know better their condition when I do get them out, if I do. They are rather
filthy, and somewhat rusted around the top of the piston. I have been putting
PB Blaster around them off and on since last night. I am trying to pry them
out gently, so as to not damage the pistons, in case they are still decent
enough to use but I am not having much luck moving them. I do not have a
compressor that I might use to force air into the caliper to force out the
piston, and I cannot reattach the caliper temporarily to the car since there is
no fluid in the reservoir since I just recently rebuilt it and have not
refilled it yet.(next time I might do the calipers first) Any suggestions on a
way to get the calipers out?
Thanks in advance...
