I placed a decently large order yesterday and will receive all of it
within a few days with the exception of the rear lenses, but that's
another story.

Occasionally I have experienced some items being backordered, but not
terribly often. I would surmise that a fair amount of the time, the
items on backorder are the more "unusual" items, and not the more
typical items.

That's been my experience. I wholeheartedly support TRF whenever
possible, but it's also great to have alternatives as well.

I didn't own a Triumph in the late 70's or 80's, but it is my
understanding that the parts quality and availability is much better now
than then, so I'm pretty happy.

And Brooks' payment plan isn't bad either.

Jim & List
:
I too at times have been troubled by the backorder fact, I am sure that
you
are probably not in for a large restore, but I thought I would mention a
plus side to TRF's Backorder program.

When doing heavy full restorations, the characteristics of TRF backorder
can
be exploited by placing one large order, big dollar items that you are
in no
hurry for, can be placed on the credit card. Because you have placed a
large dollar amount order, you will get extreme good deals on the items
that
are of quality, . Of the two times that I have done this, the card gets
trickle billing as the parts come available, since I don't keep a balance
it
has made for an easy payment plan without interest.

Another plus is you are helping a deserving vendor to stay in business.

I guess I will try TRF. I placed an order with them two days ago and out
of
the 11 items ordered, six were placed on back-order. . . Very
frustrating.
