Vic---All good points on why some manufacturers don't include an
external lube point on their U-joints. Add the possible stress riser
from drilling a hole into the spider, as mentioned by another lister,
and there you go!

Some of my original "ungreasable" 'joints lasted well over 100,000
miles. Can't say the same for a few of their greasable replacements.
