For your differential, it does not matter if you use GL-4 or GL-5. I've
used Mobil 1 gear oil (GL5) for years, it seems to work just fine. But you
can use anything in the diff. FWIW, if the diff is leaking, use the
cheapest stuff you can buy.

Most of the stuff on the shelf in places like Auto Zone and Pep Boys is
GL-5. If you truely want GL-4 oil, go to specialty houses that sell
RedLine synthetics. They have GL-4 compatible products, but at $7.99 a
quart, you might not want that stuff to leak. :-)
