A OD Origin

A friend has an TR250 gearbox (CD8743) to which the PO added an A Type OD.

The OD model number is # 28/1447.   I assume the 28 means a 28% output
velocity increase when overdriven.  Haven't taken it completely apart but from
a quick look it seems to be like the #22/1753 in that it has the small
accumulator piston.

Can anyone tell us where this model was originally used?
