I'm trying to put together a '73 that the DPO had partially taken apart in
an aborted "restoration" attempt. He had the front calipers rebuilt (the
only part of the restoration he completed!), so they were in a box when I
got the car. I ordered new pads and a fitting kit from Moss, but am
confused as to how the whole thing assembles. The fitting kit came with the
following:

(4) Shims
(4) Pins
(4) Spring clips for Pins
(4) Unidentified longer springs/clips

It's fairly easy to piece together the shims and the pads and the pins and
the spring clips, but what I can't figure out is how the longer
springs/clips fit into the puzzle. It seems like they might play a role in
opening up the pads after braking. I can't fit them around the pins without
bending 'em up and there's no mention of them in any of the diagrams I've
found.

Any help would be appreciated!
