Jorge---Two things to consider when changing alternators, as you are
doing. One is the diam. of the pulley that came with it. If it's close
in diameter  (between 
2-1/2" to 3") to the Lucas, let the belt size length make up the
difference.  Second, it is good if the pulley "V" is also the 1/2" width
as your original Lucas, so the drive belt matches all pulleys.    

If you can get the Lucas pulley off without bending it, this is the best
choice. Holler if you need suggestions.

Do what ever is necessary to get the pulley you use 'lined up'. This
will help keep the belt on when you rev to 7 grand.
