ignition

I'm thinking about getting the Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition kit. 
Should I upgrade any of the other ignition components, like the coil, plugs or 
wiring, when this is installed? I just got a set of TRF green ignition wires, 
anyone have experience with these? I want to keep it looking as original as 
possible. 
I recall someone saying that with the electronic ignition, you lose your tach. 
About how much would it cost to convert my tach?
