My Lucas catalog seems to indicate that it requires a ballast resistance; Lucas model 2BR P/N 47170A The coil & ballast are listed as a "cold climates" option for 65 TR4. -- Randall 56 TR3 TS13571L o

BPNW cross-references this number to their ballasted coils, but oddly, doesn't tie it to a TR3 application. With that bit of knowledge I would say that it will work in your TR3A, assuming it is a goo
