- owner front smell Boiling batteries have a very distinct smell. I used to smell it from time to time when I worked at service station along a highway. I think it's hydrogen sulfide or something like

- FWIW, I've had a similar experience that was caused not by the alternator but by a shorted cell in the battery. I wasn't so lucky, though, the hydrogen/oxygen mixture got ignited and the first thing

- Just to echo what others have said, it should be just fine as long as you use a "smart" tender. Even one of the old "trickle chargers" would probably be OK from a safety standpoint, but they will sho
