I recently bought an older ('01) Ducati 900 2V, which has the kickstand bolted directly to the aluminum engine case. The kickstand is held on by two M10x1.5 bolts, which extend 20mm into the case. B

if Couldn't you just drill out the sidestand mounting plate and use bolts that match the timesert thread if this happened? I don't think this is a critical as you say, for this application. There is
