I too have thought about getting a security system for similar reasons - I'd mainly like fire/flood detection. Motion detection would be pretty useless with our cats as well, so it would just be glas

Here is my take on alarm systems... Any system can easily be defeated, and thieves (pros at least) only break in when no one is there, so an audible alarm is just noise until they cut the wire. First

This is a clever system. It constantly records, but overwrites if nothing untoward happens. But if something does happen, like a break-in, it keeps the 10 seconds from the buffer. Good idea. Mike --
