Jim, I am mortally wounded at being singled out! Actually, thank you for letting me know. I checked my browser settings and sure enough it was set to use html, which is probably the cause in my case.

FWIW, normal ascii (the stuff you can type with the keyboard) is not affected. I think it's just the hi-bit characters (fractions, language-specifics, etc) that get misrepresented. Shame on the Big C
