I think if I was having that much trouble I'd build one--either from a delrin block or a roller. The tensioner on the TR3/4 is a pitiful steel blade, but it doesn't seem to cause any problems. We use

For the tensioners to last, the edges of the timing chain links must be smooth, so the chain does not act like a chain saw on the tensioner blade. The same problem occures on the TR-4 engines. The or
