Okay, it looks like I have to abandon the full size spare tire want. I already had to put the head unit in the glove box because it would not fit in the trunk and now getting the full size spare out

My mini spare only fits the rear. So if I ever get a flat up front, I'll toss the mini in back and move the rear tire to the front. And in the mean time, I'll enjoy a trunk I can actually fit things

Be careful not to run with different diameter tires on the rear axle for an significant distance, this forces the side gears to rotate continuously. The side gears are plain steel-on-steel bushings a

All except the 280zx and firebird are fwd cars and the offset will be way different and I doubt they'll fit. Firebirds are a 5 lug wheel. Mike

Yep. Good points. The five hole problem is a particularly tough one. The run-once donuts are typically 115-135 section widths, so maybe the offset isn't such a big factor. They'll look and ride terri

There's a compact spare for a 280Z (same large center?) on ebay, but it's way over the $5 limit. - Bob Mann, '69 2000, no spare of any kind /// datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net mailing list
