FWIW, one trick that can help on the TR3A is to crank the steering all the way to lock (either way). This increases the clearance available. With this I have had no problem (though it's snug) getting

Well, actually I *can* say that trick doesn't help on a TR4 (although it certainly does on a TR3). The reason is that the steering rack housing on a TR4, unlike the drag link on a TR3, doesn't move a
