Has anyone replaced the stock roadster steering gear with a rack and pinion setup? I'm trying to get a feel for what has worked for other people so that I may apply it to my own car. Van

The RCKTSHP has a rack mounted in front of the crossmember after much modification. It handles great. I also lost a few feet from the turning radius and that makes tight parking interesting. The bigg

Best would be in a direct line of the original steering rod attachment points the way it seems to do that is through the crossmember! Ron

Be creative and have a good welder/fabricator at your disposal and you can do anything (like cut an inspection hole in the bottom of the crossmember) with the understand that you can't sacrifice safe

I've never done it on a roadster, but I have done it on a few other cars (240Z, TVR, Datsun 1200) If you want to use a r&p from another car, you must find a "front steer" rack. By front steer, I mean
