Malcolm Green's T-Series Restoration Guide reproduces instructions for installing a radio in a TD. It appears to be a Smiths Radiomobile, and the instructions show models 4100-4102-4200-4202. Bob On

The factory certainly never offered a radio in the TD ("...a true gentleman listens to his motor..."). Therefore, there is no such thing as an "original TD radio". So you're free to use whatever com

A radio was never original factory-installed equipment. If a dealer sold a brand new TD with a radio, then it was installed by the dealer. I think Smiths radios were used in a lot of installation kit

My '53 had a Motorola am radio in the glove box. It took up the whole space. Had a built-in speaker and lots of tubes. It's now in my basement, but I could check model numbers if needed. John Olman

When you find your radio, be sure it has the same grounding as your car does. A negative ground radio will play for about 2 seconds before it quits in a cloud of smoke when wired to a positive ground
