Hello folks in rebuilding the motor for my 54 TF I noticed the oil pump had a gasket wafer thin (you could almost see through it) between the oil pump body and the top part where the pump rotors are

There should not be a gasket between the pump body and the pump cap! The one you found was a DPO's invention. Just make sure the surfaces are smooth, flat and free of scoring, and that there is 3 th
