Is it possible to remove the barrel from the exterior door handle? The reason I ask is that I have just changed my exterior door handles for chrome ones but the locks on the lh and rh sides are diffe

I removed mine and did a little home locksmithing with a file to make all of the locks work on one key. You don't actually need to keep all of the tumblers in the barrel, anyway. Mine only had four

Wot? No central locking on your Spit? ;-) Easy. Remove door handle assembly, look for the circlip on the end of the barrel, remove circlip, slide out barrel. Assembly is a reversal of the above... Ch
