Use Permatex RTV if your gasket isn't sealing properly. And if you feel really energetic you canjust run a good bead of RTV around the cover and eliminate the gasket complrtly.

I've never seen Wellseal, but understand it is similar to Permatex 'Aviation Form-a-gasket' aka "gasket shellac". This stuff made Permatex famous, it works very well, but is a giant PITA to remove an
